When I came across this particular quote, it pulled me up short.

The words for one so young, struck me as very mature and even sage. It made me realise the value of our liberty, of our freedom. As writers we should never take that for granted.

This is what NaNoWrimo is all about, getting words down on paper. That shitty first draft. It doesn’t have to make sense nor does it need to look pretty. My mantra is ‘just write’. The story arrives much later.

Tiny baby steps, one after the other makes progress it’s true. Been loving the series The Handmaids Tale, bet the book is even better, but so near to reality very scary indeed.
